Page 1 of 7 Who doesn't love Beethoven? Well, probably lots of people, but whatever. He was a famous composer, and I hoped that with this tortilla, I would also be famous. Yes, one day, I will be at the top, and this tortilla will take me there. Here is how I created that tortilla...
First, I got myself a recording of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Then I memorized the words. This required me to learn German, which took a few years. After I understood what "Freude, schöner Götterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium" meant, I was ready to get started. I turned on the music, really loud. At this point, I was in the mood, and began working on the tortilla. First I mixed a batch of browning sauce and burnt umber acrylic paint. The tortilla began with a painting of Beethoven's face on the tortilla. Just the main features - the eyes, the shadow under the nose, the mouth and chin, and the hair. I needed enough for people to get an idea of what I was trying to do, but the details and shading nuances would come later.
