Then I combined a couple of the previous techniques - the acrylic paints and the tostada.  This ws the result.  It looks okay, I think.  There was no burning at all done to this one.  I just toned the tostada with some iron oxide yellow paint, then painted George over it. 

Although this particular one wasn't very well painted (he looks kind of puffy, and the shading on his cheek looks he has a black eye - maybe John Adams beat him up), the technique proved to be a promising alternative to burning. Check the Human-Animal Hybrid demo to see how this technique evolved.
