Seems like there has been a paucity of Jesus sightings lately. Maybe it has to do with the holidays, maybe He's busy, I don't know. But there hasn't been a lot of news about Jesus showing up on stuff lately. About the only thing I found recently was a news comes from England, where visitors to an art gallery are seeing sparks fly from the eyes of a Jesus statue.
According to an article in Metro UK , a gallery in Liverpool is displaying a steel and bronze statue of Jesus brandishing a whip, called "Cleansing the Temple." Apparently, a woman fell into a trance while looking at the statue, and when she came out of it, she said she saw sparks flying out of the statue's eyes. And that seems to have been enough to attract "hordes" of visitors to the work. Thousands of people are visiting and venerating the statue now. 
OK, I don't know much about art, but I know what would look good over my sofa. And it ain't this. I think the only sparks that anyone should see from this statue should be from a cutting torch. Geez, his face looks like a burn victim , and his body is flat as a Anna Nicole's pulse. Should have been called "Christ, After Blessing a Steam Roller." |
